Recently, a cradle-type five-axis deep hole drilling machine from Climboo completed delivery and commissioning, and the first batch of sample trial machining for a Shandong customer is currently underway.
Deep hole machining has always been a tough nut to crack in the machining field. Deep holes, difficult chip evacuation, easily deviated accuracy, plus the spatial angle changes brought by five-axis simultaneous motion—all pose considerable challenges to machine rigidity, stability, and control systems. The cradle-type five-axis deep hole drilling machine being tested was designed specifically for complex-angle deep hole machining needs, striving to strike a balance between efficiency and precision.
Sample trial machining is the most critical step before equipment delivery. The sample parts brought by the Shandong customer include typical workpieces with multi-angle inclined holes and relatively large depth-to-diameter ratios, placing practical demands on the machine’s simultaneous motion accuracy and deep hole drilling stability. Climboo’s technical team is on site following up, optimizing item by item from fixturing plans and tool selection to cutting parameters. At present, the trial machining is progressing as planned, and various indicators of the sample parts are being verified one after another.
We always believe that whether a machine is good or not ultimately depends on the workpiece. Sample trial machining is not a formality; it brings the customer’s real machining scenarios onto the machine and uses actual cutting results to test equipment performance. On-site feedback from the Shandong customer is also helping us further refine equipment details.
Trial machining is still ongoing, and the results are worth looking forward to. Climboo will continue to follow up to ensure the equipment is delivered to the customer in stable condition and put into formal production.
